Bookings and Reservations

Do you need to reserve for bungee jumping or the zipline? . . .

It is recommended that you make a reservation to bungee jump and/or for the zipline. It is possible to book and jump when you arrive but please be advised that it is not guaranteed that you will be able to jump.

How do I reserve? . . .

Reservations can be made online through our integrated booking system or by calling (819) 459-3714.

How far in advance should I reserve? . . .

You should reserve as far in advance as possible. There is never guaranteed availability for a certain day. Popular time slots could be fully booked up to 3 weeks in advance.

Is payment required for booking? . . .

Yes. Payment in full is required for any and all bungee jumping, the zipline and Ultimate Adventure bookings.

How do I make payment? . . .

Payment must be made with a credit card using our online booking system or over the phone at the time of booking. No bookings will be final without full payment.

What forms of payment do you take? . . .

Payments may be made by Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

If we are a group, does everyone need to make a payment? . . .

No, for group reservations, payment for each person must be made on a single credit card number given by the group organizer.

Once I have made a payment, can I change the date of my booking? . . .

Yes, a change of date can be made only once. The change can be done at the latest 48 hours before the day of the activity.

Will bungee jumps or the zipline be cancelled in severe weather? . . .

Bad weather, such as severe winds, intense rain or lightning, may cause delays to the activities but very rarely cancellations. Delays to activities are at the discretion of Great Canadian Bungee management.

Once I have made payment, can I add or remove people from my group? . . .

Once your booking is made, you cannot remove participants from your group without losing the payment for those people. It is still possible to call back and add participants to your group, but only if availability allows.

Can certain days be full? . . .

Yes. There is a finite number of jumps that we can fit into our schedule each day. Popular jump dates can be completely booked.

When is it possible to jump or zipline? . . .

From May 1st to October 31st bungee jumping and the ziplining are available every day. Please see our HOURS and PRICING section for details.

Is there a minimum number of participants needed? . . .

There is no minimum number of participants. Reservations can be made for individuals or groups.

How long before my appointment do I need to arrive? . . .

Arrive 45 minutes before your scheduled time in order to complete the registration process before your activity time. For groups of 10 or more please arrive 1 hour before your scheduled time so that we may register and organize the group prior to the jumps.

Cancellation policy and booking conditons . . .

Full payment is due at time of booking. The group organizer will have to pay for all group members in advance. No change of date or time will be allowed 48 hours before the day of the activity. Existing reservations will be added until 6 p.m. the day before the activity, if there is availability. You can move your reservation only once if it meets the 48-hour deadline. If it has not been rescheduled, the activity may be cancelled and refunded subject to a minimum notice of 15 days.

Facilities and Location

Where exactly are you located? . . .

At 1780 Route 105, Chelsea, Quebec. 30 minutes North of Ottawa and 2.5 hours West of Montreal. Our GPS coordinates are 45 36' 46.40" N, 75 54' 34.00 W.

Are there areas for spectators? . . .

Yes, spectators are welcome. There is a designated viewing area for spectators near the registration area. However, spectators may not accompany the jumpers to the tower or onto the jump platform.

Can I take my own photos and videos on site? . . .

Yes. Photos and videos may be taken from the spectator area only.

Is there camping or accommodations onsite or nearby? . . .

There are no accommodations on site but there are campgrounds and hotels within minutes. Our accommodation section has a full list of links to local hotels, motels and campgrounds.

Bungee Jumping

Is the jump over water? . . .

Yes. The bungee jump and the RIPRIDE zipline are over a 160ft deep lagoon.

How high is the bungee jump? . . .

200ft above the water.

Does bungee jumping hurt or cause discomfort? . . .

Physically, bungee jumping is a smooth process with a gradual deceleration. Jumpers do not feel any physical pain or significant discomfort during the course of the jump. Fear is usually what causes the most discomfort during the course of the activity.

Are bungee jumping and the zipline safe? . . .

How do I need to dress for bungee jumping and the zipline? . . .

No special clothing is required for jumping or for ziplining, however, all jumpers are required to wear shoes or sandals with a strap that will stay on your feet. Boots or flip flops are not permitted. Check the weather on the date of your activity and dress appropriately for the conditions.

Will I touch the water on my bungee jump? . . .

The water dip is optional. If you do not want to touch the water then you will not. If you ask to do a "water dip" then it may be arranged at the discretion of the jump master. In this case the touch is not guaranteed.

Can I jump with a camera or personal item? . . .

No. Jumpers are asked to remove all personal items from their pockets before jumping and cameras must be left behind. This is a safety concern and our insurance forbids this.

Is there a training and instruction period before the jump? . . .

There is a group safety briefing before jumping begins. Jump instructions, retrieval procedures, and jump options are all explained, harnessing then follows. This briefing only takes about 5 minutes.

Will I be attached by my ankles or by my waist? . . .

Each jumper will be given the option to jump either with an ankle harness attachment or a body harness attachment. The body harness is a waist and shoulder harness combination. The ankle harness utilizes a waist harness backup system.

Will bungee jumps or the zipline be cancelled if it rains? . . .

NO, our activities proceed rain or shine.

Will the bungee jumps or the zipline be cancelled in severe weather? . . .

Bad weather, such as severe winds, intense rain or lightning, may cause delays to the activities but very rarely cancellations. Delays to jump processes are at the discretion of Great Canadian Bungee management.

Can I jump naked? . . .

No. Clothing must be worn by all for bungee jumping.

Can we jump with 2 people together? . . .

No, we do not allow "tandem" bungee jumping. All jumpers must jump individually.

How old do you have to be to bungee jump or zipline? . . .

You must be 18 years old to bungee jump without parental consent. If you are less than 18 years old you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or have written consent by the parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian must also be reachable by telephone the day of the jump to verify consent.

What are the minimum and maximum weight limits for bungee jumping and the zipline? . . .

The minimum weight for bungee jumping is 80 lbs. The maximum weight is 300 lbs. The minimum weight for the zipline is 70 lbs, the maximum is 250 lbs.

Are there restrictions for bungee jumping or the zipline? . . .

Great Canadian Bungee reserves the right to restrict access to activities to anyone based on the discretion of management. Restrictions include intoxication, pregnancy, extreme asthma or respiratory disorders, epilepsy, hypertension, skeletal or joint or ligament problems.

How long does the bungee jumping take? . . .

From the time you arrive on site the jump process including registration, briefing, and cycling through the group booked into the hour for which you reserved, typically takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Can I bungee jump and RIPRIDE zipline in the same day? . . .

Yes, in fact there is a discounted zipline price specifically for this purpose.

Are there videos of the Bungee Jumps or zipline available? . . .

ZIPLINE

What is the zipline? . . .

Our zipline is a 1015 ft long, high speed cable slide. A cable slide can also be called a zipline, or flying fox.

How long is the zipline? . . .

The zipline is just over 1015ft long. You slide at top speed for roughly 15 seconds before you begin to stop.

How do I stop and get off the zipline? . . .

At the end of the slide you are slowed down by a unique spring based system which will roll you backwards until you are over top of the landing dock. A hydraulic lowering system will lower the cable down to the unloading dock where one of our staff will assist in removing you from the cable and your equipment.

How long does the zipline take? . . .

From the time you arrive on site the zipline process including registration, briefing, and cycling through the group booked into the hour for which you reserved, typically takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours.

Are there different ways to ride the zipline? . . .

There are 2 positions you can use to ride the zipline, seated or flying.

ULTIMATE ADVENTURE PACKAGES

Where do you go rafting? . . .

Our bungee/rafting package is in conjunction within Esprit Rafting, rafting is done on the Ottawa River.

Some people in my group do not want to bungee jump. Can they purchase rafting only? . . .

For those who do not wish to bungee jump, zipline/rafting packages and rafting only packages are also available.

How far is the rafting site from the bungee site? . . .

The rafting and bungee locations are roughly 75 minutes from each other.

Is there a group discount for the Ultimate Adventure Package? . . .

No. The Ultimate Adventure is a specially discounted package involving a discounted rate on both bungee jumping and rafting. No further discounts are available on this package.

Can bungee and rafting be done in 1 day? . . .

No. Bungee and ziplining must be done on a separate day than rafting. The rafting is a full day adventure and with driving distance from the bungee site it is not possible to complete all activities on the same day.

What part of the river is the rafting on and what class are the rapids? . . .
